The U.K. Environment Agency on Aug. 14 formally granted Drax Power Ltd. a permit change that will allow carbon capture to be implemented at Drax Power Station. Drax first applied for the permit variation in May 2023.
The European Commission on July 30 approved a EUR 290 million ($338.61 million) Dutch state aid package to support sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The two approved support schemes aim to boost SAF supply and demand.
The recent announcement by Finch Paper that it will close its pulp mill in Glens Falls, New York, underscores the urgent need for alternative solutions capable of utilizing low-grade wood and forestry waste across Vermont and the Northeastern U.S.
OPAL Fuels on Aug. 10 announced the company produced 1.3 million MMBtu of RNG during the second quarter, up 4% when compared to the same period of last year. RNG production for the first half of 2026 reached 2.4 million MMBtu, up 6%.
The NCGA filed comments with the Office of Management and Budget encouraging the agency to reconsider updates recommended by one of its committees to more directly capture the economic impact of the emerging bioeconomy.
