U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 880,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in September, according to the U.S Energy Information Administration. Sales of densified biomass fuel reached 970,000 tons during the month.
The USDA on Feb. 23 opened enrollment for its Farmer Bridge Assistance program, which is providing $11 billion in one-time bridge payments to row crop producers in response to temporary trade market disruptions and increased production costs.
The USDA on Feb. 19 released its Grains and Oilseed Outlook, predicting an increase in soybean production and planted acres for 2026-'27. The volume of soybean oil used for biofuel production is expected to increase approximately 17%.
Bayer on Feb. 19 announced the launch of newgold seed, its first multi-crop seed brand developed specifically for low-carbon intensity crops, designed to help farmers participate directly in the fast-growing biofuels market.
The U.S. exported more than 10.09 million metric tons of wood pellets in 2025, up more than 1% when compared to 2024, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Feb. 19.
