South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster on May 19 signed a bill creating a new state income tax credit that supports the development of landfill gas-to-renewable natural gas (RNG) projects within the state.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 1 released updated State Energy Data System estimates, reporting that the U.S. consumed nearly 2.31 quadrillion Btu of wood and biomass waste in 2024.
Japan-based Erex Corp. on May 13 announced plans to develop a 112-MW biomass power plant in Niigata Prefecture, a region on the west coast of Japan. The facility is expected to begin operations in 2029 and will be fueled with wood pellets and PKS.
Poland-based Orlen on May 25 announced it has commenced operations at a 300,000-metric-ton-per year renewable diesel facility in Plock, a city in central Poland located approximately 70 miles northwest of Warsaw.
Aemetis Inc. announced on May 21 that the Capital Programs & Climate Financing Authority in California has adopted an initial resolution related to potential future issuance of up to $1.1 billion of tax-exempt bonds for Aemetis projects.
