Vision RNG has completed an agreement with NRG Business Marketing LLC for the sale of over 47,000 landfill gas (LFG) voluntary carbon credits. Each credit represents 1 ton of CO2 equivalent not emitted into the atmosphere. The credits were generated by the voluntary collection and destruction of landfill gas methane from the Lunenburg Landfill in Lunenburg, Virginia. The agreement includes the sale of all credits generated, verified, and issued by the Climate Action Reserve for Vintage 23 credits from the landfill.“Vision RNG is very excited to be delivering voluntary carbon credits from an LFG project. We expect this to be the first of many carbon credit sale opportunities within our growing portfolio of LFG projects” said Bill Johnson, Vision RNG’s CEO. “Voluntary carbon credits are an excellent tool that help to fund a landfill’s gas collection system. This allows the early collection and destruction of methane, a very powerful greenhouse gas, prior to a landfill being required to do so by EPA regulations.”Vision RNG is currently developing several other landfill gas projects that are anticipated to generate voluntary carbon credits.&nbsp;
