MasTec Power Corp., as the EPC contractor for Georgia Renewable Power LLC, has chosen Siemens as the technology partner for two new biomass power plants, Georgia Renewable &ndash; Franklin LLC in Carnesville, Georgia, and Georgia Renewable &ndash; Madison LLC in Colbert, Georgia. The biomass power plants will each feature Siemens&rsquo; SST-600 steam turbines, SGen-100A air-cooled generators and three-phase step-up transformer technologies, leveraging the company&rsquo;s global engineering expertise to provide efficient and flexible power generation.
Siemens will also deliver a SPPA-T3000 Control System to maximize overall plant performance through data analytics while also improving safety, efficiency and reliability. Slated for operation in summer 2019, the Georgia Renewable Power projects will be capable of supplying power to approximately 120,000 homes while reducing emissions, helping to meet Georgia&rsquo;s renewable energy targets.
