Hekotek to supply pellet plant to customer in Vietnam

Hekotek, an Estonia-based mechanical engineering company that designs and manufactures machinery for wood processing industries, recently announced it is supplying its first pellet plant to a customer in Southeast Asia.

The company said it will supply a 160,000-ton-per-year pellet plant to a Biomass Fuel Vietnam Co. Ltd. The plant will be located in Nghe An Province in Vietnam and take in sawdust, eucalyptus, acacia and pine wood chips as feedstock. Equipment supplied as part of the project will include six CPM pelleting presses.

Hekotek said initial design and construction work is in progress. Installation work is scheduled begin in spring 2019, with the facility operational by the end of next year.

Once complete, the new pellet plant is expected to supply wood pellets to Japan.
