BTEC to hold biomass CHP, district energy webinar
The Biomass Thermal Energy Council will hold a free webinar on May 25, featuring three panelists who will share first-hand experiences implementing biomass-fueled combined heat and power (CHP) and district energy systems.
Speakers include Midwest CHP Regional Application Center Director John Cuttica, Nexterra Systems Corp. Senior Vice President of Business Development Jonathan Wilkinson and Ever-Green Energy Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering Michael Burns.
Some of the topics covered during the webinar include how district energy and CHP systems use biomass as a fuel, what government initiatives are supporting these systems, what can be done to right-size a biomass CHP system for a facility’s needs, and lessons learned from system installation and operation.
A question and answer session will follow the speaker presentations.
The webinar is the fifth in a series that BTEC began in September. They are being funded with a U.S. Forest Service Wood Education and Resource Center grant that was awarded to BTEC in June 2010 to advance education and outreach on biomass thermal energy.
