The International Maritime Organization’s Net-Zero Framework is expected to accelerate demand for biofuels. By 2030, biofuel demand for maritime use could grow by up to 25 million metric tons; one-third of global demand.
Repsol has achieved a new technological milestone by producing gasoline from 100% renewable sources on an industrial scale. The product is made entirely from renewable sources and is fully compatible with gasoline vehicles.
The U.S. EIA maintained its forecasts for 2025 and 2026 renewable diesel production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Oct. 7. The production outlook for “other” biofuels, which includes SAF, was also unchanged.
DHL Global Forwarding and Hapag-Lloyd have signed a three-year framework agreement for Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions resulting from the use of sustainable marine fuels within Hapag-Lloyd's fleet.
Darling Ingredients Inc. on Sept. 29 announced an agreement to sell $125 million of production tax credits to a corporate buyer. These credits were generated under the Inflation Reduction Act by the company’s Diamond Green Diesel joint venture.
