Rentech to assume development of Port St. Joe biomass project

Rentech Inc. is in the process of acquiring the plans for a proposed $225 million 55-megawatt biomass power plant in Port St. Joe, Fla., from developer Biomass Energy Holdings. The plant will use the Rentech-SilvaGas biomass gasifier.

California boasts highest RPS but more effort is needed

California now has the highest mandatory RPS in the U.S., but current laws may prevent the state from reaching its true renewable potential. SB X1-2 requires that 33 percent of the state's electricity come from renewable sources by 2020.

Making green wood work in existing coal plants
