Toronto Zoo to host biogas plant The Toronto Zoo will soon become the first zoo in North America to host a biogas plant. ZooShare Biogas, a nonprofit, renewable energy cooperative, will fully fund, design, develop, construct and operate a 500-kilowatt scalable biogas plant. READ MORE SHARE
Legislation calls for more time devoted to MACT rules In a bipartisan act introduced in the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee June 22, eight legislators called for additional time for the U.S. EPA to fix the Maximum Achievable Control Technology Rules, which have been temporarily suspended. Forest Service awards $3 million for renewable energy projects Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the award of nearly $3 million in grants to 17 small businesses and community groups to develop wood-to-energy projects that require engineering services and will help expand regional economies and create new jobs.
