Phillips 66, REG to build renewable diesel plant in Washington


Phillips 66 and REG announced Nov. 1 that planning is underway for the construction of a large-scale renewable diesel plant adjacent to Phillips 66's Ferndale Refinery in Washington State. The plant will use REG's proprietary BioSynfining technology.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently released data showing that U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 700,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in July, with sales reaching 570,000 tons.

Enviva to supply pellets to power plant being converted in Japan


On Oct. 31, Enviva announced that off-take contract agreements with Mitsubishi Corp. are now firm. The announcement follows news released by Mitsubishi the previous day indicating construction is underway on a biomass power plant conversion in Japan.
