Fulcrum announces plans to develop SAF biorefinery in the UK Fulcrum BioEnergy Ltd. on Feb. 16 announced plans to develop a 30 MMgy sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant at Essar Oil (UK) Ltd.’s refinery near Liverpool, England. The project could be operational as soon as 2025. READ MORE SHARE

Mike Thompson, D-Calif., chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures, on Feb. 5 announced the introduction of the GREEN Act, which includes several tax extenders that would benefit biofuels and bioenergy. Clean Energy signs multi-year contract with LA Metro for RNG Clean Energy Fuels Corp. announced that the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has signed a new agreement for an estimated 47.5 million gallons of its RNG to fuel the nation’s largest transit bus fleet. Xebec announces hydrogen order for FuelCell Energy project Xebec Adsorption Inc. has received a hydrogen purification system order from FuelCell Energy Inc. The order is for a PSA-based system that will purify hydrogen produced from RNG by FuelCell Energy’s SureSource Hydrogen platform. READ MORE SHARE

Dansons set to open pellet mill in Hope, Arkansas Dansons USA has announced it will open the country's largest barbecue wood pellet mill and distribution center in Hope, Arkansas. The facility will start with 100,000 tons of capacity, with future plans to expand to 300,000 tons. READ MORE SHARE
EIA updates short-term bioenergy forecasts The U.S. Energy Information Administration released the latest edition of its Short-Term Energy Outlook on Feb. 9, predicting electricity generation from renewable sources will reach 21 percent this year, up from 20 percent in 2020. READ MORE SHARE
