EPA approves RFS fuel pathway for Agresti Energy The U.S. EPA has approved a fuel pathway under the RFS filed by Agresti Energy, allowing the company to generate D3 cellulosic biofuel RINs for compressed RNG produced via a proprietary process that uses hydrolysis and anaerobic digestion. Massachusetts opens public comment period on RPS rulemaking The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources on March 4 opened a public comment period on proposed amendments to the state’s renewable portfolio standard (RPS), including those related to biomass. Viridis Chemical produces renewable ethyl acetate Viridis Chemical LLC on March 28 announced its first production of renewable ethyl acetate from its manufacturing plant in Columbus, Nebraska. ICE launches renewable volume obligation futures Intercontinental Exchange Inc., a global provider of data, technology, and market infrastructure, on March 28 announced the launch of two renewable volume obligation (RVO) futures contracts, expanding ICE’s U.S. renewable fuels futures markets. AECOM, Genifuel partner to convert algae and biosolids into SAF AECOM has signed a strategic agreement with Genifuel Corp. to propduce SAF and biogas from wild algae and biosolids.
