B&W, Kiewit partner to deliver 200 MW biomass plant in Louisiana Babcock & Wilcox is partnering with Kiewit Industrial to deliver a 200 MW biomass power plant in Lousiana. Drax opens new pellet plant in Demopolis, Alabama Drax Group has opened a new pellet plant at Demopolis in Alabama. 	Enviva to build a new wood pellet plant in Bond, Mississippi Enviva Inc. has announced it will invest approximately $250 million in Bond, Mississippi, to build a wood pellet production plant with an annual capacity of more than 1 million metric tons per year. EPA discusses RFS plans in FY 2023 budget request justification The U.S. EPA has released its FY 2023 congressional budget justification, outlining the agency’s plans for $11.88 billion in requested funding. Twain closes $136 million ground lease for renewable diesel plant Twain Financial Partners has closed a $136 million ground purchase and leaseback arrangement for a renewable diesel plant under development in Reno, Nevada, by New Rise Renewables Reno LLC. Canadian government funds biofuel, bioenergy projects The Canadian government on March 30 awarded funding to several biofuel and bioenergy projects, including those focused on liquid transportation fuels, biocarbon, renewable natural gas (RNG), and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). READ MORE SHARE
EIA: US biofuel capacity up in January, feedstock use down U.S. operable production capacity for fuel ethanol, biodiesel, and renewable diesel all increased in January, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on March 31. USDA: US farmers to plant record soybean acreage in 2022 U.S. farmers are expected to plant a record 91 million acres of soybeans in 2022, up 4 percent when compared to 2021, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistic Service’s Prospective Plantings report, released March 31. GIP signs definitive agreements for dairy RNG project in Iowa Green Impact Partners has secured long-term feedstock agreements with two dairies near its proposed renewable natural gas (RNG) project in Iowa.
