The U.S. exported 894,320.3 metric tons of wood pellets in August, down from 979,282.7 metric tons in July, but up from 775,860.8 metric tons in August 2024, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Aug. 19.
Rolls-Royce is leading a new project to find smarter ways of using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to increase its effectiveness and role in reducing non-CO2 emissions, specifically those associated with contrail formation.
Tidewater Renewables Inc. on Nov. 13 reported that production at its renewable diesel facility in British Columbia was impacted in September and October by unplanned downtime. The facility is expected to be operating at full capacity by December.
Renewables accounted for a record 54.5% of U.K. electricity generation during the second quarter of 2025, according to data released by the U.K. government. Generation from plant biomass was up, but generation from other forms of bioenergy fell.
Renewables are currently expected to account for 24% of U.S. electricity production in 2025, increasing to 26% in 2026, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Nov. 12.
