Drax Group plc released 2023 financial results on Feb. 29, reporting its pellet production segment achieved robust performance in a challenging market environment. The company also discussed progress on its BECCS projects in the U.S. and U.K.
A recent life cycle assessment highlights a notable 22% decrease in the carbon footprint associated with U.S. production of crude soy oil, which is a key feedstock for U.S. biodiesel, renewable diesel and SAF producers.
Drax has become the latest founder member of the University of Sheffield’s newly-launched Energy Innovation Centre. The new partnership will drive forward research into next-generation carbon capture technology, including innovations in BECCS.
The U.S. EPA has opened a public comment period on version 16 of the WARM, a tool that estimates the potential GHG emissions, energy savings and economic impacts of baseline and alternative waste management practices of materials.
