DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, has validated a new methodology for the certification of net carbon dioxide removals delivered using bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS).
Toyota Tsusho Corp. on June 17 announced that the 75-MW Yatsushiro Biomass Power Plant has begun commercial operations. The facility, located in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, can be fueled with both wood chips and wood pellets.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has announced a series of new deals with several municipalities across the country. These agreements represent a collective growing demand within city agencies for more sustainable, low-carbon solutions for their operations.
Valmet has announced it has been selected to supply a 50-megawatt (MW) pellet-fired heating plant to a district heating facility in Mölndal, Sweden. The new heating plant is expected to begin operations in late 2026.
Sevana Bioenergy on June 10 announced the acquisition of the Rialto Bioenergy Facility, a renewable natural gas (RNG) plant located in Rialto, California. The facility, previously owned by a subsidiary of Anaergia Inc., was purchased via a bankruptcy auction.
