DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, has validated a new methodology for the certification of net carbon dioxide removals delivered using bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS).
The Sedona-Oak Creek Airport Authority—in partnership with Avfuel Corp. and the airport’s fixed base operator (FBO), Red Rock Aviation—has announced Sedona Airport now offers an emissions-reducing fuel option: SAF.
Toyota Tsusho Corp. on June 17 announced that the 75-MW Yatsushiro Biomass Power Plant has begun commercial operations. The facility, located in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, can be fueled with both wood chips and wood pellets.
BP on June 20 announced an agreement to acquire Bunge’s 50% interest in its BP Bunge Bioenergia S.A. JV. The company also said it is scaling back plans for the development of new SAF and renewable diesel projects at its existing sites.
The U.S. EPA released updated RIN data on June 20, reporting that nearly 2.01 billion RINs were generated under the RFS during May, down from 2.11 billion generated during the same period of last year.
