Dual-purpose biofuel crops could extend production

Today many biofuel refineries operate for only seven months each year. However, current research shows dual-purpose biofuel crops could produce biofuels nine months of the year, increasing profits by as much as 30 percent.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently released the January edition of its Short-Term Energy Outlook, predicting ethanol production will average 1 million barrels per day in 2017, increasing slightly to 1.02 million gallons in 2018.
