Archaea Energy, a subsidiary of bp, and UGI Energy Services LLC, a subsidiary of UGI Corp., on Oct. 28 celebrate the start-up of their joint venture's renewable natural gas (RNG) plant in Hegins, Pennsylvania.
Neste Corp. on Oct. 24 released third quarter financial results, reporting that its renewables segment has been impacted by overcapacity and lower-than-expected voluntary demand for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Valero Energy Corp. released Q3 financial results on Oct. 24, reporting increased production for both its ethanol and renewable diesel segments. Valero’s SAF project is expected to be fully operational before the end of the year.
Capacity to produce biofuels increased 7% in the United States during 2023, reaching 24 billion gallons per year (gal/y) at the start of 2024, led by a 44% increase in a category the EIA calls renewable diesel and other biofuels.
EPA: 1.99 billion RINs generated in September

More than 1.99 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in September, up from 1.96 billion generated during the same month of last year. Total RIN generation for the first nine months of the year reached 18.58 billion
Vertex Energy Inc. on Oct. 9 confirmed that its refinery in Mobile, Alabama, is again producing fossil-based fuels. The company, however, confirmed that it has preserved renewable fuels production capabilities at the plant.
