The Alliance for Green Heat has announced the appointment of Emma Hanson to its board of directors. Hanson has more than a decade of experience advancing energy efficiency, advanced wood heating technologies, and sustainable forestry policy.
The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is celebrating the grand opening of its $3.1 million Brookston Community Center Biomass Heating System. The project was funded in part by a $2.49 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 880,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in September, according to the U.S Energy Information Administration. Sales of densified biomass fuel reached 970,000 tons during the month.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration currently expects renewables to account for nearly 26% of U.S. electricity generation this year, expanding to nearly 28% in 2027, according to the agency’s latest Short-Term Energy Outlook.
Biomass Magazine announced this week the eight companies selected to pitch to a group of angel investors and venture capital firms at the International Biomass Conference & Expo, taking place March 31 – April 2, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.
