UPM has achieved an important milestone in the startup of production of commercial, wood-based chemicals in its Leuna biorefinery in Germany. The refinery has commenced the production and commercialization of industrial sugars.
EnviTec Biogas on Dec. 11 announced it has signed three new contracts with first-time customers in Germany for EnviThan gas upgrading projects. The new projects are located in Bavaria, Bremen and Saxony-Anhalt.

Darling Ingredients Inc. on Dec. 22 announced the sale of approximately $50 million of production tax credits to a corporate buyer. These credits were generated under the Inflation Reduction Act by the company’s Diamond Green Diesel joint venture.
