Wood pellet consumption in the EU is expected to expand by 2% this year, driven by increased residual use, according to a report filed with the USDA. That increased demand is forecast to result in a partial recovery of EU wood pellet imports.
Japan-based Renova Inc. on July 21 announced operations have been temporarily suspended at its 74.8-megawatt (MW) Tokushima Tsuda Biomass Power Plant for repair work. The facility is expected to resume operations soon.

The U.S. EPA on July 16 released data showing nearly 2.16 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in June, up 7% when compared to the same month of last year. Total RIN generation for the first half of 2026 reached 11.94 billion.
