Production begins at largest wood pellet plant in Northeast U.S. New England Wood Pellet LLC celebrated the grand opening of its Deposit, N.Y., wood pellet manufacturing plant on June 9. At 85,000 tons of pellets, the plant will produce enough renewable energy annually to heat 25,000 homes and businesses. READ MORE SHARE

	Biomass Secure Power building pellet plant in BC Biomass Secure Power has announced official plans for its first torrefied wood pellet plant to be located in British Columbia, Canada. The plant will produce 500,000 metric tons of white wood pellets per year. READ MORE SHARE
Forest Service awards $3 million for renewable energy projects Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the award of nearly $3 million in grants to 17 small businesses and community groups to develop wood-to-energy projects that require engineering services and will help expand regional economies and create new jobs.
