Using a $10 million grant, research teams in the U.K. and India will now work together to overcome three areas responsible for slowing the growth of biobased energy: enzyme improvement; microbe and systems development; and algae genomic alteration.
Jan Koninckx, global business director for DuPont Biofuels, wants people to know that DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol didn't just disappear, but instead it has simply dropped the Danisco portion and will now use the name DuPont Cellulosic Ethanol.
Financial services company Raymond James published an industry brief in early November discussing the status and potential of the second-generation biofuels industry. The report is a follow up to a similar analysis published by the company in April.
Rentech says the commissioning, validation and startup of the demo facility are now underway, and the project that will put Rentech's gasification technology to use was completed and ready for startup "within the original budget and and schedule."
