The California Air Resources Board will hold a public hearing Feb. 24 to consider 25 amendments proposed by various ethanol producers to reduce the carbon intensity of their fuel, most proposed by Poet, ADM and GPRE.
BTEC to host webinar on federal biomass energy policy

The BTEC is holding a webinar Jan. 27 to discuss the national political environment for advancing biomass thermal energy policies in the U.S. The free webinar is titled Biomass Energy-A Policy Outlook: Programs, Legislation and the New Congress.
A Helsinki, Finland-based company called UPM-The Biofore Co. is moving forward with plans to build a biorefinery in either Finland or France. The proposed facility will employ gasification and Fischer Tropsch processes.
Mississauga, Ontario-based Woodland Biofuels Inc. has announced the completion of financing and beginning of construction of its 750,000-liter demonstration-scale cellulosic ethanol production facility.
