Neste Corp. on Feb. 5 released fourth quarter financial results, reporting that renewable sales volume were up for both the quarter and the full year 2025. The renewable diesel market improved toward the end of the year and record-high sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) sales supported profitability.Neste’s renewable products segment reported comparable EBTIDA of EUR 252 million for the fourth quarter, up from EUR 13 million during the same period of 2024. The market environment for renewables improved when compared to the previous year and the comparable sales margin increased to $479 per ton, up from $242 per ton. The higher sales margin had a positive impact of EUR 180 million on the comparable EBITDA when compared to the same period of 2024. Increased SAF sales also supported profitability, according to the company, but higher net production costs impacted earnings due to maintenance shutdowns at both the Rotterdam and Singapore facilities.&nbsp;Neste’s biorefineries operated at 53% capacity during the fourth quarter, up from 41% during the same period of 2024. Production at the Martinez facility in the U.S., which is a joint venture with Marathon Petroleum Corp., increased year-over-year. However, due to the challenging U.S. renewables market, the Martinez facility continued to have a diluting impact on Neste’s sales margin.&nbsp;Neste produced 838,000 metric tons of renewable fuel during the fourth quarter, including 726,000 metric tons of renewable diesel, 100,000 metric tons of SAF and 12,000 metric tons of other products. During the same period of 2024, the company produced 687,000 metric tons of renewable fuel, including 602,000 metric tons of renewable diesel, 72,000 metric tons of SAF and 13,000 metric tons of other products. The proportion of waste and residue inputs reached 91%, up from 90% during the fourth quarter of 2024.Neste sold 1.1 million metric tons of renewable fuel during the fourth quarter, up from 926,000 metric tons sold during the same period of 2024. Sales included 832,000 metric tons of renewable diesel, up from 713,000 metric tons; 253,000 metric tons of SAF, up from 195,000 metric tons; and 16,000 metric tons of other products, down from 18,000 metric tons. Approximately 73% of sales during the quarter were destined for the European market, with 27% sold into the U.S.&nbsp;Neste’s renewable products segment reported a full-year comparable sales margin of $411 per ton, up from $377 per ton in 2024. Comparable EBITDA reached EUR 764 million for the full year, up from EUR 514 million in 2024.&nbsp;For the full year 2025, Neste produced 4.24 million metric tons of renewable fuels, including 3.31 million metric tons of renewable diesel, 841,000 metric tons of SAF and 89,000 metric tons of other products. Total renewables production for 2024 was at 3.73 million metric tons, including 3.23 million metric tons of renewable diesel, 415,000 metric tons of SAF and 92,000 metric tons of other products. Waste and residues accounted for 95% of total feedstock in 2025, up from 90% in 2024.Renewable sales for 2025 reached 4.13 million metric tons, up from 3.73 million metric tons. Sales included 3.18 million metric tons of renewable diesel down from 3.23 million metric tons; 867,000 metric tons of SAF, up from 412,000 metric tons; and 93,000 metric tons of other products, up from 92,000 metric tons.
