New research published on Feb. 10 by Vanguard Renewables shows that using Midwestern agricultural waste—particularly crop residues and food waste—can generate approximately 1,580 trillion Btu of renewable natural gas (RNG).
Neste Corp. on Feb. 5 released Q4, reporting that renewable sales volume were up for both the quarter and the full year 2025. The renewable diesel market improved toward the end of the year and record-high SAF sales supported profitability.
The U.S. exported 891,093.3 metric tons of wood pellets in November, up from 814,292.2 metric tons in October and 874,171.2 metric tons in November 2025, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Jan. 29.
The New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board on Jan. 22 unanimously adopted regulations implementing a Clean Transportation Fuel Program, making New Mexico the fourth U.S. state to adopt a clean fuel standard.
The planned merger between Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern hit a snag on Jan. 16 when the Surface Transportation Board issued a unanimous decision finding that the merger application is incomplete.
